moveDC Public Input Meeting

03/28/2013 - 6:00pm
Etc/GMT
Location:
Wilson High School: 3950 Chesapeake Street NW

Have you heard about moveDC? It's the District Department of Transportation (DDOT)'s initiative to put together a coordinated, multimodal long range transportation plan, addressing all modes of transportation in the District.

The moveDC plan will incorporate livable streets, roadways, bicycles, pedestrians, transit, freight, maritime, and railroads, as well as an implementation element.
DDOT is doing a lot to encourage public participation and input into the plan. On February 9, they held a day-long public idea exchange, and are now transitioning into a series of four public input meetings across the city.

moveDC is the most important opportunity we'll have to influence the shape of transportation in D.C., so if you care about these issues, please let us know if you can attend by RSVPing with CSG.

March Trainers' Network Skillshare

03/12/2013 - 6:30pm
Etc/GMT
Location:
St. Stephen's Church, 1525 Newton St., NW

Calling all popular educators, trainers, facilitators, instructors, teachers, and ANYONE interested in further developing those skills!

Hosted by the Washington Peace Center, this month’s skillshare will explore tools you can use to effectively approach conflict resolution in training and facilitation settings. We’re aiming to address questions like: when are the moments to process within in and with the entire group, and when is it appropriate to separate a conflict from the larger group setting? how can we turn conflict into teachable moments that support the learning of the entire group? What conflict resolution tools can we add to our toolkit, and when are they appropriate to use?

The DC Trainers’ Network monthly skillshare is a structured, interactive space where people can share skills and gain confidence in their training abilities and everybody is both a teacher and a learner. It strives to provide an inclusive practice space to experiment with different approaches for learning and teaching. This skillshare seeks to strengthen the DC activist community’s ability to meet the needs of progressive social movements.
