In Baltimore, MD, Immigration

Thanks to the over 50 JUFJers who joined us at our July Community Convening!

We studied how Jewish texts see our duty towards migrants, empathized with our migrant neighbors by remembering and sharing our families’ stories of migration, and workshopped the tactics we can use while organizing for migrant justice.

We were joined by representatives from Esperanza Center Immigration Legal Services and CDM (Centro de los Derechos del Migrante). All of us participated in a collective action to call upon our elected officials to push ICE to release Marta Rodriguez from her arbitrary detention. Marta is one of the immigrants we have accompanied to her ICE check-ins, in partnership with Sanctuary DMV.

If you want to get involved in our ongoing work for migrant justice in Baltimore, email Bennet and he’ll be in touch!
