Join fellow Baltimore City District 4 constituents for a meeting with Councilmember Mark Conway.
Shavuot is a Jewish holiday celebrating the Torah and the beginning of the harvest, and it reminds us to reaffirm our communal values. It is often observed by eating dairy foods, studying all night, and reading the Book of Ruth. This year, Baltimore City Council's Taxpayer Night begins just before Shavuot. Join us as we and our partners celebrate Shavuot and testify to the City Council to remind them that, as the Book of Ruth points out, the bounty of the harvest should be used to meet everyone’s basic needs.
Sukkot is a holiday that reminds us to think about what it means to have a roof over our heads and a safe, stable place to live. Join JUFJ's Montgomery County housing team for an outdoor, in-person Sukkot dinner at B'nai Israel in Rockville. We invite you to bring your own dinner (no meat, please!) and nosh, learn, and socialize with us!
At this special meeting of the Economic Justice working group, we'll attend a special in-person meeting where Mayor Muriel Bowser will discuss plans to bring the Washington Commanders back to RFK Stadium.
About the Economic Justice Working Group: Everyone in DC should have what the Torah calls dei machsoro, resources sufficient to meet their needs. Join our Economic Justice Working Group meetings to discuss current campaigns and how we are working with our partners to build a DC where everyone can live and thrive.
Join JUFJ and our partners for the second of two upcoming budget forums where we'll ask for investment in funds for rent stabilization and restorative justice staffing and implementation! Let us know in the signup form whether you're interested in asking a question or passing out flyers at the event.
