Join us for campaign updates and how to take action in Annapolis!
JUFJers keep pursuing justice even when it's not safe to pursue it indoors. Join us in Annapolis every Tuesday morning during the 2022 Maryland General Assembly legislative session as we stand outside the state house to remind our Senators and Delegates how much we care about paid family and medical leave, transforming public safety, renters' rights, court and prison reform, and immigrant rights.
Purim is a joyful Jewish holiday that commemorates the story of Queen Esther, who used her power to help her community during challenging times. Every year on (or near) Purim, JUFJ activists deliver mishloach manot, sweet gifts to our Maryland state legislators, along with a reminder of what our legislative priorities are for this year's General Assembly session. But we can't make this sweet delivery without your help.
Our next full coalition meeting will be on Thursday, November 3 at 4pm on Zoom. We will be joined by some of our national partners who will provide us with a federal update on paid leave efforts and help us view our campaign in the scope of what is happening nationally. We'll also talk about the 2023 Maryland General Assembly and what we'll be doing as a coalition this session.
Our next full coalition meeting will be on Thursday, December 1 at 4pm on Zoom. We will break down the impact of the 2022 Election, and what it means for our coalition's efforts during the 2023 Maryland General Assembly. We hope you can join us - and bring a friend! It's all hands on deck as we push to realize paid leave in Maryland.
After registering, you will get a confirmation email that includes the Zoom details for the event.
Join us for our next virtual Maryland Community Meeting, where the Maryland Center on Economic Policy will present on budget advocacy. MDCEP’s training will cover how folks can advocate on budget issues, especially in light of the state’s new budget process this year. We will begin the meeting with a community Chanukah candlelighting!
