Thank you for joining us in the fight for housing justice in Maryland! Unfortunately, Good Cause (formerly “Just Cause”) Eviction legislation (HB709/SB651) did not pass out of either the House or Senate before the Crossover Day deadline on March 17. The Senate refused to move the bill without a bad amendment that would have undermined existing and hard-fought local renter protections. Despite the setback on this legislation, we will continue our organizing with Renters United Maryland to support renters and win other needed protections during the remainder of this legislative session.
