Desmond Serrette is the Deputy Chief Of Programs at Community Change.

He has worked on behalf of working people for almost his entire career. Prior to working at Community Change, Desmond served as the Strategic Campaigns Director at SEIU and before that as Deputy Political Director at Unite Here Local 25. He was the Campaign Director for the Statehood ballot initiative campaign, which successfully passed the Statehood referendum with 86% of the vote in 2016.

Desmond grew up in Prince George’s County and holds a BA in African American Studies from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He lives in Columbia Heights, Washington, DC.
