Sarah joined JUFJ staff in June 2022 following several years as a deeply involved volunteer leader — as a Jeremiah fellow, as Co-Chair of the Maryland State Labor and Housing Justice Team, and as a member of the Maryland Core Team and the Baltimore Leadership Council. As Data Manager, Sarah designs and oversees data systems that empower the organization’s work, ensuring data and information is collected and secured properly while maintaining its accuracy and accessibility for informed decision-making. She also serves as co-chair of the Labor Management Committee, representing her colleagues as part of JUFJ’s staff union. In her previous role as JUFJ’s Program Manager, Sarah focused on planning and coordinating trainings and events across jurisdictions and fostering cross-organizational collaboration. She considers herself a “professional knot untangler,” finding creative solutions to complex challenges.
Before joining JUFJ’s staff, Sarah worked as a fundraising consultant for Maryland candidates and elected officials. She also participated in the Israel Government Fellows program, living in Jerusalem and working with the Israel Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs’ Department of International Relations. A graduate of Scripps College in Claremont, CA, Sarah earned her degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (one major, not three!). Her senior thesis explored how parental leave and early childcare policies affect working mothers and women’s economic security, igniting her lifelong commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.
Outside of work, Sarah continues to build community and support causes she believes in. She is Past President of the board of Camp Louise Circle, the alumni organization for the Jewish sleepaway camp she attended and worked at for many years, and she volunteers with HeadCount, an organization that promotes democracy by registering voters at concerts and festivals. She is a member of Beth Am Congregation and an active participant in Baltimore’s Jewish young adult community. She enjoys dancing, making and drinking coffee, attending live concerts and musical theater performances, and exploring new places and cultures through travel. Sarah lives in Baltimore with her husband and their adorable rescue dog, Huxley.
