The Time to Care Coalition is continuing our advocacy for the establishment of strong and equitable implementation of Maryland’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Program. The Maryland General Assembly passed the Time to Care Act in 2022, which establishes a statewide paid family and medical leave program to ensure that workers don’t have to choose between their job and caring for themselves or their loved ones. The legislature now needs to pass additional legislation to ensure that the program is implemented effectively. SB 828 was passed out of the House Economic Matters Committee (ECM) on Friday – as well as its House crossfile HB 988! – and now heads to the full House. Join us in encouraging the House of Delegates to pass SB 828 and HB 988!
