Baltimore relies on facial recognition and other forms of surveillance technology to turn regular people into informants for the police. You need to know exactly what this surveillance and tracking technology does and what you can do to protect your face, data and privacy. Watch Netflix’s "Coded Bias" with the Campaign for Justice, Safety and Jobs and join us for some delicious food and even more delicious conversation about facial recognition technology.
Join JUFJers from across Baltimore to discuss our ongoing issue campaign work. We will share updates for all the local campaigns and brainstorm on how to move the work forward.
Since 2018, JUFJ has been part of the local movement to transform public safety in Montgomery County. One of the core coalitions in this movement formed in 2020, with a focus on ending the practice of treating Montgomery County Public School students — especially Black and brown students — as criminals. That coalition is relaunching as the Montgomery County Decriminalization Coalition, and you’re invited to the launch party!
Join JUFJers from across Maryland either in-person (preferred) or virtually as we kick off our advocacy for the new Maryland legislative session!
